Τhe pedagogical application of Non-Directive Intervention (NDI)

Spring Academy invites you to an online experiential open discussion on the pedagogical application of Non-Directive Intervention (NDI) with Katerina Tranouli.

Wednesday 21st of July 2021, 19:00-20:00 Eastern European Summer Time (EEST), Zoom

The presentation will be in Greek. If you need translation to English let us know in advance so we can organise synchronous translation for you. The translation will be audible only to those requiring it.

Before the event please watch “School Circles”.
Available subtitles: Portuguese, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Estonian, Bulgarian, English, German, French, Japanese and Danish.

We will have an open experiential discussion on the pedagogical application of the method of Non-Directive Intervention (NDI), from which we will shift to the democracy of social life, where we define ourselves, our goals, we self-organize and live what we want to live.
Opening the range of communication with children, in this discussion we will ask ourselves and we will deal with issues such as:

  • How to set children, young people, free to express their potential and diversity, to develop their skills, to interpret the world and not to accept it as interpreted.
  • How to transform the pedagogical relationship (education – upbringing) into a developmental relationship for both adults and children
  • How daily communication with children can become an ultimate tool for healthy development and prevention of psychopathology

Coordinated by Katerina Tranouli, Psychologist, NDI psychotherapist, yoga instructor, mother of two children, 11.5 and 10 years old.

Before the event please watch “School Circles” (https://vimeo.com/ondemand/schoolcircles):
-free screening is not possible, also we want to support this wonderful project.
-we recommend watching this with your family/group/community.

Those requiring translation from Greek to English:
-remember to inform us in advance so we can prepare for you and send you guidelines.
-please join us on zoom 10 minutes earlier so we can guide you in the set up you need. We will use jitsi (https://meet.jit.si/) -alongside zoom- so if you are familiar with this beforehand that’s wonderful.

Those who are in Corfu and prefer company on Wednesday are welcome at Casa Lucia, 12th km Paleokastritsa Nat. Rd (https://www.casa-lucia-corfu.com/en/casa-lucia/find-us). We will meet outdoors. Obviously, others can participate in in-person groups wherever you are!

      “General Tech Guidelines”

-Join the meeting on Zoom. Everything works better if you have downloaded the Zoom App.
-Evangelos Vlachakis and Zoe Valerie are our general tech team. Contact the “tech team” privately via the chat for technical issues.
-Please join with your video on and your actual name so we can recognise you/meet you. Of course if you do not want to be on video we respect that but we find it important to make these online meetings as “human” as possible. This is very hard behind closed cameras!
-We will all be muted in order to avoid sound feedback. You can write in the chat or raise your digital hand (in Reactions) or put a * in the Zoom chat. We will watch the order of hands and ask you to unmute (you then must unmute yourself!).

      “Guidelines for Interpretation”

      -Xenia Tombrou is our interpreter
-Join the meeting BOTH on Zoom and Jitsi. Please use your actual name so we can recognize you! If you are connecting on your phone or tablet you need to download the Jitsi App as well.
-Marko Koskinen and Anjelika Mamona are our interpretation tech team. Contact them through Jitsi chat for questions regarding the interpretation.
-Activate video on Zoom and not on Jitsi and make sure you are muted.
Regulate the volume of Xenia’s voice as high as you like and the volume of Zoom through your device’s sound settings. We recommend 80%-20%.
We will guide you through this live too if you have trouble preparing. Please join 10 minutes early if possible.
-During open discussion remember to raise your Zoom hand!

We look forward to meeting you this evening.
