Agile Learning tools

In July last year Nature Play and Stagones organised the first European Agile Learning Facilitator Summer short course on Evia Island. Since then they organise monthly ALF Weekends.

We will share Agile Learning tools as they are used in Agile Learning Centres.

The Agile Learning Education Model is the Agile Tree

We use a metaphor of a tree to illustrate this aspect of the ALC educational model more clearly.

The soil we grow from is trust: in students, in each other, in you. The four assumptions—roots—which ground us are as follows:

Learning: Learning is natural. It’s happening all the time.

Self-Direction: People learn best by making their own decisions. Children are people.

Experience: People learn more from their culture and environment than from the content they are taught. The medium is the message.

Success: Accomplishment is achieved through cycles of intention, creation, reflection and sharing.

There will be workshops for the creation of the Agile Learning Kan Ban boards before the Academy

Building musical instruments with recyclable materials

Join us to transform simple, daily materials, we often even find in our bins, into musical instruments!

This way of creating helps you realize how functional , music is in our daily life. To hear and see music in everything we come across.

It is directly connected to aesthetic quality and handcrafts as you will be able to decorate and paint your musical instrument as you wish.

From the deep past up to today and to the future, all around the world, there is the need to produce sound. So you will discover that the differences between the instruments in the past and now are not so many.

Tai Chi Chuan

with Mouzakitis George

Something about Tai Chi.
Tai chi , short for t’ai chi ch’üan, is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for both its defense training and its health benefits. The term taiji refers to a philosophy of the forces of yin and yang, related to the moves. Though originally conceived as a martial art, it is also typically practiced for a variety of other personal reasons: competitive wrestling in the format of pushing hands (tui shou), demonstration competitions, and achieving greater longevity. As a result, a multitude of training forms exist, both traditional and modern, which correspond to those aims with differing emphasis. Some training forms of tàijíquán are especially known for being practiced with relatively slow movements.

NonViolent Communication (NVC)

with Stelios Despotakis.

“I don’t communicate with my child the way I want to. Often I cannot understand why he’s behaving like that, and when I ask him why, he’s not responding.”

“My husband doesn’t listen to me. When I try to talk to him about how I feel, he remains silent or changes subject.”

“I am very strict with myself. Whenever I make a mistake, I punish myself with hard words and I don’t know how to stop this.”

Nonviolent communication helps us to express fully what we hold within in a way that allows our receivers to listen to not only what we dislike but also what makes us happy. Its purpose is to gradually set us emotionally free, so that we can live beyond guilt, shame or fear. “

*Find out more here: http://non-violence.gr/

In this workshop we will learn and experiment with the Marshall Rosenberg 4 steps of Nonviolent communication model Observationà Feeling àNeedàRequest in an attempt to express to others what we feel without blaming or criticizing and to increase the chances others truly listen to us and we satisfy our needs.

Fairytale Yoga "Under the water withLary the fish"

with ΜπίΝτού team

Simple asanas from hatha yoga create a fairytale in the sky and the sea with destination our friend Lary the fish.

Yoga means union. Hatha Yoga alternates pοstures or exercises, 3-5 breaths per posture. Hatha help us to observe how our body works, while the breath is slowing down and our mind is far away from the real world.

ΜπίΝτού team (MpiNtou team) is a mysterious team, for which little we know.

Unknown is the number of it’s members, unknown even is the exact subject of it’s activities.

From valid confidential sources, we know that ΜπίΝτού promote the idea of having Carnival five times per year, instead of once, and at the same time they fight hard for the right to eat icecream DURING winter.

A team’s close friend confidentially told us, that every December ΜπίΝτού meet in Kali-Kali island, with the goal to gain at least 4 new fantastic inventions and 2 new dreams for life…

Conflict resolution

with Stelios Despotakis

In this workshop, we will focus entirely on how to resolve conflicts with Thomas Gordon’s No-Lose Method (or the Win-Win Method) usually taught in P.E.T and T.E.T. seminars (Parent/Teacher Effectiveness Training), in which two (or more) parties participate in a process of six separate steps: Step I: defining the conflict in terms of needs Step II: generating possible solutions Step III: evaluating the possible solutions Step IV: reaching an agreement on the best solution Step V: determining what is required to implement the solution Step VI: evaluating the effectiveness of the solution The No-Lose Method of resolving conflicts requires a firm commitment to an entirely different posture from that assumed in the traditional win-lose methods. The parent or teacher conveys this message to the child: We have a conflict – a problem to be solved. I don’t want to use power to win at the expense of your losing. But I don’t want to give in and let you win at the expense of my losing. So let’s put our heads together and search for a solution we can both accept.

Meeting the "Inner Child"

Becoming indeed democratic and responsible parents, involves realizing if we allow ourselves to truly be “Ourselves”.

We fight for our children’s freedom, but do we actually experience freedom?

Do we listen to and cover the needs of our authentic Self? Ιn the background of our roles as “good sons and daughters” to our parents and “good parents” for our children, do we see the child, we have been and carry inside us,? How does this child feel?

Mother

with Janna.

A Womans talking circle is a place where we come together as sisters to share our truths and worries. The intention of this circle will be about parenting and finding solutions within yourself and the tribe/family. Becoming a mother is just an other transition like becoming a teenager after beeing a kid. Pregnancy and giving birth is one way of preparation, but no matter how you prepare, life will find a way to show you you are never really ready. Lets find a way to deal with the problems that are right in front of us, together.

About Janna:
Janna is a ferility and baby reflexologist and doula. Her main interest are in the area of becoming and beeing a parent. Striving to be the best version of yourself and living in freedom.
