The dream traveller
Storytelling workshop

28&29 September

The fairy tale is an excellent pedagogical tool and a source of creative inspiration for children. Its benefits are multiple: fun and emotion , deepening the use of language, developing listening skills and imagination, as well as improving self-confidence in oral expression in front of the audience (the classroom ) .

The workshop “The dream traveler ” that I propose around the art of storytelling and the fairy tale is included in this context. In this workshop I intend to introduce the children to the art of orality which is an art of transmission. I will focus on orality because I think it is important to reconnect children with language, dialogue and listening . Telling a story also means knowing how to listen and requires coordination of voice, movement, look and hearing.

I will work through group games with groups of two or more children at a time.
Subjects:
– the concept of the transmission of the fairy tale
-how we gain persuasiveness in storytelling
-ways to stimulate the imagination.
-the structure of a fairy tale
– ways of memorizing the fairy tale
-how do we create a fairy tale starting from its structural elements, such as the hero, the antagonist, the places, the magical objects…
We will work first with imaginary or experiential stories and then with traditional fairy tales.
